Freemason Fraternals

Freemason Fraternals

Freemasonry is a group of fraternal organisations that trace their origins to the local fraternities of stonemasons. From the end of the fourteenth century, Freemasons regulated the qualifications of stonemasons and their interaction with authorities and clients. The degrees of freemasonry retain the three grades of medieval craft guilds. Those of Apprentice, Journeyman or fellow (now called Fellowcraft), and Master Mason. A freemason fraternal is when one lodge officially visits another lodge.

Being a fraternal organisation the visitation to other masonic lodges is very important. By visiting we demonstrate respect and care for all Freemasons and not just members of our own lodge.

A Fraternal is an official visit to another lodge.

Lodge St James prides itself on its record of fraternals. We will continue to visit as many freemason lodges as possible.

We are based in the Newcastle NSW Area and visit as many freemason lodges as possible.
